A visually very interesting film I came across today is The Man With No Shadow by Georges Schwizgebel. It uses a technique to "bend" perspective and create interesting transitions through optical illusion. It's interesting to discover this as I had a related technique in mind for a key scene in my animated short film to visualise the borderland between reality and illusion. It involves the gradual change from a 2d plane in a 3d space to turn into a 3d object by means of a camera pan. Most probably hand drawn. It doesn't sound very clear at this stage but I prefer to do visual mockups and tests before I post more details here. In my mind it works perfectly, though.
